Did Sagrada Familia today, and parc guell (with all the cool gaudi stuff). Also walked most of La Ramblas and got our tickets to....IBIZA! Yes thats right in just over 24 hours i will be on a boat across the mediterrean to IBIZA (or Eivissa as they say here). I am so excited.

I already gave in and bought myself a Leeds Soccer team jersey because they´re sponsored by strongbow.

I´m sitting in a cool bar. I did the truly spanish experience tonight and had yummy veg. paella. Sooo good. I also splurged and did a shot of absinthe. I will never understand why that stuff is illegal in the us. I could make a killing buying bottles here (at 4.99) and selling them to friends for like 50$. Could being the opperative word.

Well thats all folks

So we are in Barcelona...and its pouring rain. And cold. Got in ok, although we discovered that our hostel charged extra for linen and that a previous reservation for the hostel (that we thought hadn´t worked because we reciedved no confirmation email) did indeed work, resulting in us having to pay even more for the night. It better not rain tomorrow.

SPAIN-- woohoo! I leave in t-minus uh, well 8 hours for the airport. Too bad i can't sleep. Stupid day light savings, i was completely not expecting it today and then BAM! it just hits and messes up my whole day. Saw Nick and Adam for dinner which was nice, and currently am making a "Club Sandwich" cd mix (club sandwich is the weekly club event here at the Goldsmiths Student Union).

The rents are all comming out soon in full force. My mom and pat are here the weekend of the 8th, then my dad and bro the weekend of the 14th. I am excited. I am going to celebrate a belated 21st birthday party on the 1st of May, when Jess will be living with me before she moves back to the states. Well thats all for now, stay tuned for Lindsay's Spain/Morocco news.

so i'm done. completely (well once i finish this last paper-- only 990 words to go) done with all of my work from this term. No more 9am classes about Engels, Freud and silly European thought. I can't believe its over. I have to say, somewhat sadly, this semester really almost felt like it was a joke to me. I really haven't had much work. Got my first essay back here, an A-. I think the professor was being nice, and actually he even admitted that if he gave us all English style grades, he would be wrecking our lives. That makes me a bit worried about the grade i will have when i turn in this final, last paper. Although the professor is German...so that might actually be worse.

I leave for Spain on monday, which should be fun, although i don't have all of my hostels booked yet. nor the trip to Greece, although one thing at a time. I will make today be productive. Right now our plan is...

London --> Barcelona --> Ibiza --> Madrid --> Tangier, Morocco (via Algeciras, Spain) --> Corodoba --> Barcelona --> London (14 days total)

On second thought, who cares? I'm done for this term, and technically the rest of my time here as all i'm taking next term is acting (which i have NO written work for) and London Theatre, which i basically get a grade for seeing shows for free in the West end. Its a joke. It also means i will have to get a job. But first things first.

So some more pics, but first some updates for you all.

Lindsay Masimore from Iu came out on tuesday. It was really a lot of fun to see her and was kinda a nice remember that i too have friends (everyone has people here visiting them as its spring break back in the states). I showed her around campus, we did dinner, and then drinkings and the movie (Once upon a Time in Mexico) at the student Union.

Wednesday was St. Patricks day. We (Christian, Justin and I) decided to start the day off early and have some guiness before class in order to achieve our goal of drinking 5 guinesses to get the St. Patrick Day guiness hats they were giving away (i had no such luck after drinking 2 in 30 minutes discovering that you have to buy all 5 pints at once). That night, Kat and i went and hung out in the Union and then a bunch of us went to the Paradise Bar in New Cross around 1am where they had live jazz music. A good night!

The first guiness of the day!

The start of the evening

Friday i went with my Shakespeares London Class to Stratford upon Avon. Which was fun. I saw Shakespeare's grave at the Trinity Church. (and actually was one of the only 2 people able to get in as we some how lost the group and then beat them to the church). And we all had drinks at the Dirty Duck pub before seeing MacBeth there. I was rather disapointed with the preformance, although i suppose it could have been worse.

Saturday (today) i went into London to catch the Stop-The-War protests (against the anniversary of the war) in london. It was really interesting. Sadly i got there 2 hours late (as i was trying, unsuccessfully, to fix my manual camera) and missed the march. THere was still stuff going on in Trafalgar square and i hung around long enough to hear some speakers, get some pics, and an anti bush poster for myself. It was WINDY and drizzling but still an interesting experience.

So i finally got busted for riding the bendi buses for free in london tonight. They're the buses that have 3 doors, so you generally buy (or not buy) your ticket before you get on. I went to see Adam from the Kimbolton exchange i did in high school. We had dinner (he only lives like 15 min by bus in Oval) and i chatted with him. We spent awhile discussing this (the concept of free buses) and then on my way home, bam! busted. I'm trying to decide if its worth trying to find someone with a travelcard from today (which shouldn't be too hard) as i only owe the London Transport folks £3.80 (i had £1.20 on me and its a £5 fine.) and if i show them a card i shouldn't get fined the rest. I'm still kinda annoyed although i suppose it evens out for all the times i've ridden it for free. Stupided 436 bus. Its a bad number. I'm all about the 453. Its a much better bus if you ask me.

So sadly, i am sick. And suprisingly, its not my usual bronchitis or viral infection but rather strep. I'm not sure that thats a good change. In any event finally saw a doctor over here and am now on meds. End of term is rapidly approaching and i really must get more work done, however i have recieved an extension (just a week) on my European Culture and Ideas Essay as i've decided to scrap the Engels and Sexual Liberation Essay for an Essay on the Freidrichsoff Commune in Germany in the 1960's. Hopefully it will be easier. I am going to start my essay on Pedro Almodovar today. However, sadly i realized he's not the director of Abre Los Ojos. Alejandro Amendabar, Pedro Almodovar, same difference right? So hopefully in my sick and lazy phase i will be able to actually watch some of his movies so that i can actually have a basis to write my paper.

On a more positive note, my friend Lindsay from IU is out here in London doing research so we're doing dinner and drinks next week when i'm healthier.

Well its update time, and now i have no excuse. I finally buckled down and took Aol up on thier month long trial offer. Which appearently is now 2 months, but i'm not sure if thats accounting for the fact that they screwed up when setting up my account. In any event, it means at least for the next month, i have the internet in my room. Its amazing already how it changes the dimentions of my room.

But as for london events. I saw Taming of the Shrew last week, which to be honest, i was kinda disapointed. However as i didn't realize my class was all sitting together i got upgraded from third level balcony to 5th row. Not too shabby. And tonight (as its technically 2.05am here) i'm seeing Judi Dench in Alls Well that Ends well. Presuming that i can stay awake that long. As previous, the exchange rate is hovering at a solid 2$ to the pound. But nothing that can be done there. I treated myself to a cd and a subway sandwich today and went on a nice long walk down Oxford street. Its interesting being in a city on a weekday during buisness hours. But good. I may try and check out a dance school tomorrow if i have time to see if they have open studio classes. Which would be cool. Esp. as they'd only be 6 pounds for me to take. I tried going running last week as i've been feeling very blah and sedientary, but didn't strech and wound up with very very painful calf muscles the rest of the week ( i decided to run up one of the only hills in london!). I want to go check out an exhibit at the tate which supposedly people have been flocking to all winter as its about the weather and they have a "sun" room there which people have been going to to get an extra dose of rays.

I have almost finished my first essay for a class, which is due on Friday. I have to say i don't think it was that difficult, but then again, i've not gotten it back and i technically still have 200 words to write. I'm much more afraid of my next one on Engels views on "Sexual liberation" (stupid communist theory).

Well inlight of that last thought, i should get some rest, i have to be up in 5.5 hours for class. One of these days i'll get back on a normal sleeping schedule. Maybe

Love,
Lindsay
